A beautiful sunset at the end of a great day!
Our business was born in 1999 with a small retail greenhouse and primitive gift and collectible shop in the 100 year old farmhouse located on the farm. With the economy fluctuating over the last 10 years and the growth of the local farm movement we transitioned from a retail shop into a market producer and interior plantscaper. We still have the gift shop on the farm, open during the growing season or by appointment. Even though we are located on a main road, Route 7, we found drawing retail customers to our place was becoming a hard goal to accomplish so that's how we became market growers. I enjoy the markets, it's nice to meet your customers every week and offer them the best we have to sell. So as it goes, we are working hard to prepare more growing beds and gardens and hopefully make our place a great destination for anyone to see the farm in progress. We invite any of our customers or website visitors to call or email and make an appointment to come out and see what we are getting into.
Below is a bouquet of Lisianthus we grew for cut flower bouquets. Lisianthus is also known by Eustoma or Prarie Gentian and is native to Texas! They are a long lasting cut flower and we sold out weekly at the market while they were available!
Superstition, Black Magic & Navaho Jewel Bearded Iris.
John and I have been married 17 years and he was the hay/horse man and I was the gardener, we combined our talents and are working now to make our greenhouse, farm market business successful. I have a B.S. degree from Slippery Rock in Recreation Resources Management, worked in interior plantscaping and then drove UPS deliveries for close to 13 years. John is a retired mechanic from Consol's Bailey Mine. We have more time now as we are "in retirement" but find it hard to not keep working! So with all our "pets" , dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits plus the growing, we tend to keep real busy but love working with the soil, plants and animals! We want to take care of our farm as it will pass on to the kids and grandkids and hope they will absorb the same love for it as we have.
Lilac Time is one of our best selling dahlias! Grasshopper for free.

Ferncliff Illusion is one of our prettiest Dahlias for Bouquets!
